A Website Can Bring Your Chapter into the 21st Century!

by Stacy Pearson
Full How-To including Pictures!

Last year, the Maple Grove chapter asked me to help them create a website. So, July 2009 we got them started. At the end of the year, they were up in members after struggling with membership for years! They attribute part of their success to their new website. So, I wanted to write this article to get other chapters started on the web. It may sound like a scary or expensive endeavor, but once you get started, it is really as easy as editing some documents. The benefits of a website are many!

Get Online Today with Web Development!

Does your chapter (or district) have a website? Is it linked to the MNWT and USWT website? I challenge you to get online! Back in 2001 when I was the USWT webmaster, I created a Web Development Training to help you with this process.

Just email your picture from a local, district or state event to the webmaster. If approved your picture and a credit to you will be published on our website.

What's Your URL?

Now is the time to update your local and/or district website. Please send your URL address so we can link to you – don’t forget to link back to www.mnwt.org as well.

New Items on the Web

There have been some new additions to the website today. There is now an MNWT Online Calendar. If you use Google Calendars, you can easily add the MNWT events to your personal onine calendar.

The Webmaster Blog is also new. The idea is that Exec Council members will be able to add their own content to the website in the future.

Please let me know what you think of these new items.
